Link Building – Increase Ranking with Search Engines!

Website Tip #5

Link Building

How Can Link Building Increase Your Ranking with Search Engines?

It Helps Visitors FIND YOU!

Links can help with an organic approach to SEO.    But always remember, QUALITY is better than QUANTITY when it comes to link building.  Adding links…to just add links is not a proper strategy.  In fact, it will be detrimental to your growth strategy.

Bad Linking – when you are linking with sites that have no relation to your topic.  Search Engines like Google will penalize you for posting to just ANY site.  If you receive a penalty from them…well your website will disappear from the search results PERIOD!!!

There are 4 ways Link Building can help your ranking with search engines:

  1. Adds value to receiving page – improves its visibility with search engines.

Meta Tags, How Will They Impact Your Website?

Website Tip #3

Meta Tags

How Will Meta Tags Impact Your Website?

  1.  Title Tags on their own can impact your search rankings
  2.  Descriptive Tags can encourage them to visit your website
  3.  Meta Descriptions can help with organic clicks.

The definition of Meta Tag or Meta Element is basically the structured data about a website or page.  It is the HTML tag.  This is what search engine crawlers use to identify content within a website and is to help categorize the page.

Meta tags are used to specify page descriptions, keywords and other various elements.  These tags DO NOT appear on the pages itself, but can be seen when viewing the page source.  Meta tags can help with your SEO, but not all of them are of equal value.  The one that is going the have the greatest impact on your website traffic is the Meta Description Tag.  This one is what will drive your customers to “click” to your site.

The 4 Major types of Meta Tags are:

  • Meta Keywords Attribute – keywords that are relevant to the page they are on.
  • Title Tag – This text is at the top of your browser.  This is that Search Engines identify as the “title” of your webpage.
  • Meta Description Attribute – Brief description of page.
  • Meta Robots Attribute – This tells the Search Engine Robots, Bots or Crawlers what they should do with your page.

Alt Text, How Will It Impact Your Website?

Website Tip #2

Alt Text

How Will Alt Text Impact Your Website?

Also known as “alt tag” or “title tag” which is actually the abbreviation from “alt attibutes”.

What are these?  These reference the description of the images on your website.  Have you ever visited a site and when you hovered over a picture a description popped up?  Well that’s what we are talking about…that little description.

Images have the ability to create a vivid picture for your visitors, but it will also help visitors who may be blind or visually impaired, as it will “describe” what the picture is about.  Search Engine Crawlers also use these “tags” to find content on your site however…which in turn can have an impact on your website traffic.

As they say “A picture is worth a thousand words”.  For your website that can be true, but we still need to define some “behind the scene” details of these images in order for it to help with your SEO (search engine optimization).  Google and other Search Engines place a high value on alt texts, so if you want to get more traffic…this need to be done!

First off, you want to make sure you are using Good-Quality photos as this is appealing to potential customers and keeps them looking around.  Any images that are blurry, unclear or just make no sense for your topic can have a negative impact for you.

Another IMPORTANT thing to remember as well, is that you NEVER want to “keyword stuff” your text.  What we mean by that is that filling in ANY kind of keywords for one picture will not give you a good result.  In fact it will be negative for your SEO and can be looked at as “SPAM“.

Is Your Website Ready for HTTPS?

Website Tip #1

HTTPS

Ask yourself if your Website is just a Business Card or is it a Sales Lead Generation Tool?

July is just around the corner. Most people are thinking of planning holidays. What does any of this have to do with Business and Websites?

Our friends at Google are changing things up again. Websites that are not using HTTPS will be flagged INSECURE by Google’s Chrome internet browser.

What is HTTPS and why should I care you ask?

HTTP is an acronym for HyperText Transport Protocol – its how your browser connects to a website server. The ‘S’ in HTTPS stands for Secure. The Secure part encrypts data between your browser and a website server so that things like your name, address, phone number, credit card number – basically everything about you and your communication with the website is not exposed to anyone on the internet!

If you have a Website and its not HTTPS compliant, your sales leads and even your customers may be discouraged to use your site because Google’s Chrome will report your website as Not Secure (Proceed with caution) or even Dangerous (Avoid this site).

You need your website to display Secure (see our URL address above):
